Enter the stitched width and height plus your fabric count. This calculator estimates the stitched design area; add your own margin, framing or finishing allowance separately.
For each dimension, divide the number of stitches by the fabric count. That gives the stitched size in inches. Multiply inches by 2.54 for centimeters. The calculation describes the design area, not the extra fabric you need for a hoop, frame or finishing method.
Choose a physical size early. A pattern that looks detailed on a large screen can become too dense at a small stitched size, even if the color conversion itself is technically accurate. When in doubt, inspect the grid at the size you expect to stitch.
